The Sandy City Parade

Following the afternoon at Grandma and Papa's house, we headed over to the Sandy City parade with the Bos family. Annabelle and Stockton had a great time and were super good! Annabelle was wiped out from her long afternoon in the sun, hence all the half-smiles in the pictures :) But she was a little trooper, as was Stockton. I wasn't quite sure if we'd make it all the way to fireworks without having to call it quits and head home, but they both did great and were excited to be there with their cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Stocky is Papa's little shadow, and they both love it! The fireworks were fun too: Annabelle didn't even cover her ears (a HUGE triumph), and Stockton only cried a few times but calmed down quickly. I had an escape plan just in case, and I was so surprised I didn't have to use it! :)

It was a long day, but full of fun for the kids! We arrived back home close to midnight, one of the latest nights we've ever had. Thankfully we made it into the house tantrum-free and we were one day closer to seeing Josh!

Annabelle chased down the people who had this flyer! She thought it was a ticket to the Pioneer Pageant (her cousin, Paige, is performing in the pageant) :)
Stockton loved getting another fire hat!

The 4th of July! Happy Birthday Papa!

The holidays sure are busy, in a good way of course! Josh was out of town for a military training, and we missed him LOTS and LOTS! The kids and I started off the day at Grandma and Papa's house to celebrate Papa's birthday. The kids swam in the backyard, colored patriotic pictures, and read a little story about patriotic holidays. They had a blast, as they always do, and I really appreciated the low-maintenance activities...as I always do :) Annabelle and Paige swam in the little hot tub for long while! We couldn't believe how long they stayed in there! They were having a ton of fun and they both wore themselves out :)

Watch out Stockton! Melody loves to tease :)
Mmmmmm...pool water tastes the best, right?
The girls have been loving coloring this summer! They will sit for an hour or more at a time and color--Brittany and I think it's way awesome! :)

The first half of our holiday was everything a summer holiday should be: Swimming in the backyard on a lazy afternoon with cousins, then coming in for a light lunch, drinks, popsicles, and coloring. Happy Birthday Papa! We LOVE you!
